Rio Ferdinand takes a step back

Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, seems to have buried the hatchet against FA, John Terry and Ashley Cole.
The story started a year ago, when Chelsea defender, John Terry was accused of calling Anton Ferdinand, Rio's younger brother, "black cunt". After that, Rio decided not to talk anymore to John Terry, and maybe it was the reason why he staid at home during the Euro 2012, even though there were a lot of injuries in the back line of the England squad.

Anyways, after the Euro the trails took place, and Terry was acquited of being racist, altough, the judge said, he may have insult Ferdinand. More surprising is the double standard against racism. Here, clearly John Terry referred to him using 'black' as an insult, but because of statements made by people who know him well, includinf former Chelsea DT, Jose Mourinho and his team-mate, Ashley Cole, the judge understood that what he said wasn't an insult but a response of what Terry thought Ferdinand told him just before. However, this acquittal clashes with Luis Suarez punishment just a week after the Terry-Ferdinand issue. Liverpool player was accused of reffering to Patrice Evra as "Negro de mierda" which means - fuckin black, but was translated as fucking nigger by the press. The two cases were very similar, but small diferences ended in acquittal for the former, and an 8 matches ban for the latter.

Ferdinand back ice chock insult

After the trial, Rio Ferdinand backed Ashley Cole 'ice chock' insult a racially insensitive term to describe black people who are seen to have betrayed their ethnicity. And for this season, he and his brother agree on snubbing handshake with his England team-mates Cole and Terry, and finally QPR captain, Park Ji Sung joined Anton at the Premier game this September and snubbed captain's handshake with Terry.

The new scandal appeared last weekend, when the Ferdinand brothers as well as other players refused to wear the 'Kick-it out' t-shirt during the warm-up. The brothers in arm had strongly criticized the passive role of the FA, the players’ union and the Kick It Out movement in the Terry scandal. Sir Alex Ferguson was very disappointed with Rio as he said after the match. "I am disappointed. I said [on Friday] that the players would be wearing [the T-shirts] in support of the PFA [Professional Footballers' Association] and that every player should adhere to it. And he goes and lets us down. We will deal with it, don't worry."

And it happens to be true. He has dealed with it. I don't know exactly what he has talked with Rio, but it worked. Prior the double Manchester-Chelsea clatch in the last week of October (Premiership and Capital One Cup), the two brothers said they were buryng the hatchet. Rio will shake hand finally with Ashley Cole, after he fell out over Cole's support for Terry. But still, he will not have to shake hands with Terry as they will be the second and the third match out of the four match-ban that FA imposed him for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand. This decission, the FA ban, made Terry quit England national football team, as his relationship with the federation is "untenable".
